The Centennial Rose Garden was inaugurated as the northernmost municipal rose garden on the North American Continent in the spring of 1967, the year of the Alaska Purchase Centennial. It remains today a hidden gem known to local residents and a special find for travelers from around the world.

The roses, beds, and rose hedge are maintained by an all volunteer crew. Interested in helping care for the garden? You will be very welcome! Come for an hour or stay for hours at a time.
